Revka has been working as a Teaching Artist in the RI area since 2001. She currently is a full-time teacher at St. Michael’s Country Day School, where she teaches Movement, Mindfulness, and Music. Prior to SMCDS, she facilitated Creative Movement and Mindfulness classes for East Bay Community Action Program/ Pell School after school program. She has worked as a Creative movement/ Ballet instructor for Island Moving Company school residency programs, Newport Academy of Ballet, Providence Ballet, and Jamestown Art center. She taught theater classes, choreographed for various shows, created an original script, in collaboration with her students, and directed “Grimm Fairy Trails'' for the Newport Children’s Theatre. This spring, Revka was awarded the Frederick Henry Prince Memorial Fund grant, which allowed her to create and facilitate a Movement and Mindfulness program for the MLK center summer camp and the Pell extended school year program. Revka earned her BA in Arts and Science from Rhode Island College concentrating on Dance Performance and Theater. She has practiced and studied mindfulness for many years through various workshops and through a program called Mindful Schools. Revka is so excited to start a new chapter in her life, in a space where she can develop programming that will help students find different pathways to connect with themselves and each other, develop confidence, and find an outlet where they can express themselves in a fun, safe, nurturing and non-judgemental environment.
